Batangas PNP Launches “Puhunan Ko para sa Iyong Pagbabago”

The Batangas Police Provincial Office headed by PCOL REX ARVIN T. MALIMBAN, Acting Provincial Director, in cooperation with Lipa City Police Station launched its pilot testing on the project "Puhunan Ko, para sa Tuluyan Mong Pagbabago". The project is through the generated funds and goods donated by the BPPO Headquarters personnel and Lipa CPS personnel to support our BELOVED (drug surrenderers who graduated from SIPAG program).

The mini-market (talipapa) was launched in Purok 2, Brgy. Balintawak, Lipa City and will run from 5:00AM to 11:00AM every day and will continue even if the situation will normalize. It will be manned by ‘aka’ Tony, ‘aka’ Danny and ‘aka’ Timo (Brgy Tanod), all drug surrenderers of the barangay. While ‘aka’ Timo was previously appointed by the Brgy. Captain of the said barangay as member of Brgy Tanod, he still needs additional income to support his family especially this ECQ days.

Aside from helping our Beloved, this is also to unclog the main public market of Lipa City as part of the several Anti-COVID-19 measur es being implemented in the City while still maintaining the objectives of the PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs campaign plan: Project Double Barrel, with the absolute aim of establishing a drug-free community.

This program will afford equal opportunities to these SIPAG graduates who were victims of illegal drug and help them sustain their needs and at the same time help the community. It will be continuously monitored by the barangay officials and police officers to ensure its sustainability.

“We have conceptualized this project through the old adage, “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime” We are really hoping that we are shooting several birds in one stone here, since first, we will be helping our drug surrenderers established a lifetime livelihood, then we will help Lipa City in decongesting traffic and people in their public markets now that there is rapid growth of contamination of COVID-19”. –PCOL MALIMBAN. ###batangaspnppio
